Optics Laboratory
Faculty in Charge: Dr. R. Azzam
Two rooms are currently devoted to optics, as follows: Optics Lab (Room EN607)
Facilities in the Optics Lab (Room EN607) include a large vibration-isolated optical table, Coherent Argon-Ion and Dye laser systems, grating division-of-amplitude photopolarimeter with 1-D and 2-D CCD arrays, various mounted polarizing optical components, HP fiber-optic polarization analyzer, setups for fiber-optic polarimetry, photo-elastic modulation ellipsometry, and NIRSE (normal-incidence rotating-sample ellipsometry). The main lab has a separate but connected wet-chemistry room and also a photography/holography dark room.
Ellipsometry/Polarimetry Lab (Room EN608)
Facilities in the Ellipsometry/Polarimetry Lab (Room EN608) include photopolarimeters using reflective silicon detectors (StokesMeters), a Gaertner ellipsometer that can be operated in the null, rotating-analyzer, and StokesMeter modes. |
