The Department of Electrical Engineering will offer all courses either during Fall or Spring. Courses with high student demand will also be offered in the Summer. No classes other than Senior Design I and II will be offered both in Spring and Fall, so make sure you plan accordingly. Be aware that if you drop a class you may have to wait a year before you are able to register for it again and that no pre-requisites will be waived.

1 All elective courses are subject to approval by the Department and the College of Engineering and must satisfy both the general degree requirements and the engineering general degree requirements appearing in this bulletin, which require at least six of the hours in arts, humanities (excluding literature), and social sciences to be at or above the 2000 level. A list of approved electives in these areas is included. ECON 2000 counts as a 2000 level course and is required.
2 Students who are not exceptionally strong in math are encouraged to take the three-semester mathematics sequences Mathematics 2107 (3 cr), 2108 (3 cr) and 2109 (4 cr) in place of the two semester sequence Mathematics 2111 (5 cr) and 2112 (5 cr).
3 Students must enroll in the section which covers "C" language (not FORTRAN).
4 Students may elect to substitute Chemistry 1010.
5 ECON 2000 satisfies 3 hrs of the UNO requirement (referred to in Note 1) of 6 hrs at or above the 2000 level.
6 (a) Must be chosen to include a minimum of six credit hours of design electives. (1996-1999 years only)
  (b) Must be chosen to include a minimum of 4.25 credit hours of design electives. (1999-2000 year only)
** While all courses listed must be taken to qualify for the specific degree, schedule rearrangements are certainly possible. The primary consideration is successful completion of prerequisites. For example, chemistry may be taken in the freshman rather than the sophomore year, provided all prerequisites are met. Also, see the section "Course Numbering System" on the College of Engineering web site for additional information.
