Research assistantships and a limited number of teaching assistantships are available to full-time students with the thesis option. These require approximately 20 hours of work a week with the assigned professor. Teaching assistantships are offered by the department, generally not to first-semester students. Research assistantships are awarded through those faculty who work for funded projects, and interested applicants should contact the individual professors directly. For non-resident students, assistantships include an exemption from non-resident fees. All students must pay the "University Fee" which is approximately $1500 per semester for full-time students.
